Just last week we learned of a serial killer drama in the works titled THE CALLING; stars Susan Sarandon and Topher Grace were on board the Jason Stone-directed flick, which Killer Films is producing. Now a handful of new names have made themselves known – good ones at that!

Donald Sutherland (THE HUNGER GAMES), Ellen Burstyn (THE EXORCIST), Gil Bellows (THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION) have all come aboard THE CALLING.. The film recently commenced principal photography last week.

The indie thriller will see Susan Sarandon play a small-town Canadian detective who tracks down a serial killer targeting the terminally ill to use as disciples in his own planned resurrection. Topher Grace is the ambitious police officer recently transferred from Toronto who becomes the detective’s right-hand man.

Bellows plays a seasoned detective on Sarandon’s team, Donald Sutherland is a priest tapped to help the investigation, Christopher Heyerdahl (TWILIGHT) will star as the killer, known only as Simon, and Ellen Burstyn will portray Sarandon’s mother.
