More Wanted?

A little over a week ago, Eric showed you all the newest poster for WANTED.

Truth be told I’m just not into WANTED. Nothing has really jumped out and grabbed my attention, especially considering the other summer films coming our way. It seems I’m not the only one either, WANTED seems to be getting very little internet buzz.

It’s funny too, because Universal seem to be pushing this one, aiming for it to be a big time summer action flick. It’s got the elements too… maybe it’s just because I’m not a huge fan of Angelina Jolie (below).

Regardless, it seems like there are already plans for a sequel! Pajiba recently scored an interview with WANTED screenwriters Derek Haas and Michael Brandt. In the interview the duo let the word out that they’ve been approached to pen a sequel to the R rated action thriller. Haas came right out and told Pajiba:

“We’ve been hired to write the sequel to Wanted by the same studio.”

Don’t really need much more clarification than that, right? Haas explains exactly what they’re going for with WANTED too:

“The movie is going to be a gigantic, hard-R action movie that we hope will satisfy the comic fans.”

Now I’m definately down for something like that. To read the whole interview, where the guys talk about most of their projects, head over here. Who knows, maybe WANTED will be the blockbuster Universal wants it to be. We’ll find out when it hits theaters on June 27.
