Mortal Kombat 11 reveals Kung Lao’s Friendship Finisher!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I've made my love of MORTAL KOMBAT no secret. And besides the prerequisite love of its excessive blood, gore, violence, and mayhem, what I loved most about MORTAL KOMBAT was its great sense of humor and fun. This is the franchise that literally had a character named MoKap in multiple game entries, and who was literally just a guy in a motion-capture suit, who even had his own backstory and character ending.

Now, while the first game had the "Toasty" guy and the heads of the developers on the spikes in the pit, the second game went even further with the campy humor, such as adding "Friendship" Finishers to the game. Basically, instead of doing a Fatality and killing your opponent, you instead did things like give your dazed opponent a gift, sign them an autograph, or do a little jig for them. Unfortunately Friendship's have been laying dormant for years, last making an appearance in MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY in 1997.

Luckily, they're coming back for the upcoming MORTAL KOMBAT 11: AFTERMATH DLC, and NetherRealm Studios has already revealed the elaborate Friendship Finishers for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Noob Saibot, and Kano. But now we can Kung Lao to that list (which you can see in the embed at the top of the article). If you can't play the video, during his Friendship Finisher, Lao adorably plays with a model train (though I prefer his original Friendship where he threw his hat as a Frisbee and accidentally kills a dog off-screen).

Meanwhile, the MORTAL KOMBAT: AFTERMATH DLC will be coming to all consoles and PC May 26th.

So what do you guys think? And what Friendship Finisher are you most excited to see? Either way, sound off below!
