I’m happy to report that there’s yet another film scheduled to hit 2009 in glorious 3-D, as that seems to be the ‘new’ trend that is taking over cineplexes… and I, for one, am not complaining!

According to Variety, Aria Films, Full Circle Films, and Axis3D are joining forced to produce THE MORTICIAN in eye-popping 3-D! This flick now joins the ranks of FINAL DESTINATION 4 and the MY BLOODY VALENTINE remake as genre flicks released next using the 3-D gimmick to land butts in seats. Guess what? I think it’s working–I’m already there!

THE MORTICIAN falls within the urban noir, contemporary fairy tale and psychological thriller genres–or, mum’s the word on exactly what this beast is about, but as it likely revolves around a Mortician, you know it’s going to be right up our alley. Corpses and caskets in 3-D? Sounds like fun to me!

Full Circle Films’ head Gareth Maxwell Roberts wrote the script and will be directing the flick as well. Stick around for more on THE MORTICIAN, as casting news and that pending release date should be announced any day now!

If you had 3-D classes, this chick would be popping out of the screen right now!
