Mortuary rises to DVD

I’ll level with you: I’m not the biggest fan of Tobe Hooper. Sure, the guy directed the classic TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE and POLTERGEIST, but then goes on to direct stuff like TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART 2 and MORTUARY. Granted, TCM PART 2 wasn’t entirely his fault (the worms at Cannon undermined Hooper and the film constantly), but MORTUARY? To me, the guy’s had more misses than hits.

DavisDVD scored the specs for the upcoming DVD to MORTUARY, due out April 11th from Echo Bridge Home Entertainment. It breaks down like this:

  • anamorphic widescreen transfer
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS Surround tracks
  • “Inside The Graveyard” featurette
  • trailer

No commentary, eh? I guess Hooper must have caught on with what he was doing and decided to not say anything. I’d like to see how he fared with his contribution to MASTERS OF HORROR, and whether it supports my theory of Hooper’s track record. No cover art as of yet, so stay tuned.
