A leaked poster for Star Wars Episode IX reveals the Knights of Ren and more

Star Wars, Daisy Ridley, leak

Sound the alarm, squeeze some eye drops into your eagle eyes and prepare yourselves, because a new poster for STAR WARS: EPISODE IX has leaked onto the internet. The sly reveal happened on Wednesday morning, courtesy of redditor u/BigChickenBrock, which had then been shared by MakingStarWars.net's Jason Ward via Twitter. As the Star Wars-dedicated site notes – in a post that has since become unavailable to view – the poster features Keri Russell’s Zorri and the Knights of Ren, as well as Naomi Ackie's part as Lando Calrissian's daughter. Oh, and your boy C-3PO appears to be rockin' a Bowcaster, too.

While the poster's legitimacy remains uncertain at this time, this is Star Wars, so of course we're all going to speculate wildly. As we gaze into the blurry glory of the poster supposidly meant to enchant fans of the final entry of the Skywalker saga, more than a few notables seem to have been revealed. For starters, we find Daisy Ridley's Rey front and center, wrapped in white Jedi robes while brandishing a lethal lightsaber. Next we find Naomi Ackie as Jannah. With a glorious afro and determined scowl, Jannah looks like a chip off the old Calrissian block – ever ready for deception and a side of derring-do. Also, it's kind of hard to tell, but is that a bow in her right hand? What do you think that thing shoots and whose face will she be pointing it at?

Just below Jannah, we find a helmeted character that many suspect is Keri Russell’s Zorri. There's also a menacing looking Kylo Ren being flanked by a squad of bloodred Stormtroopers. After throwing quite a few "Darkside tantrums" in the previous films, I would wager that Ren is looking to make some cauterized heads roll in the upcoming sequel. To Ren's left are seven warriors that bear a striking resemblance to the son of Han Solo and General Leia, who I would assume are the storied Knights of Ren.

While the poster is assuredly cool, I find it difficult to get excited about something so pixelated and unofficial … for now. What do you think of this leak? Do you suspect that Disney will soon release a high-res version of the same image, or have we all been had by the Darkside of Star Wars fandom? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

STAR WARS: EPISODE IX, as directed by J.J. Abrams, will arrive in theaters on December 20, 2019.
