Although it doesn't sound like he has officially signed on yet, Adam McKay pretty much confirmed that he will return to help write ANT-MAN AND THE WASP during an interview with Nerdist.

Previously McKay said he wasn't sure if he'll be back for the follow-up, but he recently told the site that “We’ve been talking to Marvel actually. We just talked to them the other day, and it looks like I will be involved. I don’t know if it’s gonna be right from page one. But it looks like I will definitely be involved. There you go. There’s a little headline for the fanboys!”

McKay, as most of you probably remember, was tapped to contribute to the script for the first movie with Paul Rudd after Edgar Wright left the project, and he'll be working on the screenplay for the sequel with Rudd, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. While McKay returning for ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is a good thing in my book, I'd love to see him behind the camera for a Marvel flick. Which planned Marvel film do you think would be a good fit for THE BIG SHORT director?

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP has been scheduled to open on July 6, 2018, while McKay's THE BIG SHORT is up for five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.
