Ben Affleck says doing The Batman is something he’s “contemplating”

Much like Daniel Craig when it comes to playing James Bond, Ben Affleck seems to be going back and forth when it comes to his time playing Batman. At one point he seems ready to play the character for a long time, the next he seems ready to bail, then he’s at Comic-Con reaffirming he loves playing Batman and he’s here to stay. But recently he seems to be eyeing the end of his time as Batman once again, and in a new interview says he’s already looking for a proper way to send himself off with.

Towards the end of a JUSTICE LEAGUE piece from USA Today the upcoming Batman solo movie was brought up, a project Affleck was tapped to direct until Matt Reeves was brought in, and now the actor is saying his involvement in is “something I’m contemplating.” He elaborated saying, “You don’t do it forever, so I want to find a graceful and cool way to segue out of it.”

This comes on the heels of a recent interview Affleck gave last week in which the prospect of doing five movies was brought up, with Affleck saying, "I don't know about that, we'll see what the future holds.” If Affleck were to do a solo movie, that would make four appearances for him as Batman, including BATMAN V. SUPERMAN, a small part in SUICIDE SQUAD and JUSTICE LEAGUE.

At the end of the day, if Affleck doesn’t want to do a ton of Batman movies then he shouldn’t have to. He has a successful directing career going for him, as well as acting, but his life for the last few years seems to be all about Batman. I predict he will do THE BATMAN, but after that’s he’d done; No JUSTICE LEAGUE 2 or any little pop-ups. But hey, after four appearances, fighting Superman and assembling the Justice League he's gotten way more done than any other cinematic Batman. After that, I feel like he has earned the right to hang up the cowl if he so desires.

JUSTICE LEAGUE arrives this Friday!
