Bryan Singer teases a look at first page of the X-Men: Apocalypse script

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Despite not knowing if events in his personal life will affect his directing job on X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, Bryan Singer is still moving forward with scripting the follow-up to this summer’s hugely successful X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Based on the title alone, we know the movie will feature the titular villain Apocalypse and will not be directly connected to the stinger scene from DAYS OF FUTURE PAST featuring the character while he was a young man in ancient Egypt.

But, some of the film will take place in Egypt as indicated by the glimpse of the first page of the X-MEN: APOCALYPSE script treatment that Singer posted to his new Instagram page.

While four horsemen can be glimpsed in the X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST stinger scene, this is our first true confirmation that the supervillain team will appear in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. It is unknown exactly who will comprise the team as it has shifted countless times over the years, but the Mutants representing Death, Famine, Pestilence, and War have included Archangel, Gambit, Wolverine, Psylocke, Sunfire, Caliban, Plague, and many others. I would think it would be interesting for this to be the way to pull Wolverine back into the mix and give Hugh Jackman the chance to play a more villainous role.

All we know is that Singer, Simon Kinberg, Mike Dougherty, and Dan Harris are hard at work to make this movie as good, if not better, than X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. That is a tall order to fill but if anyone can do it, these guys can.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is slated to open May 27, 2016.
