Rachel McAdams, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel

By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth! It's been confirmed by Deadline that Rachel McAdams will reprise her role in the next Doctor Strange film! While Marvel has yet to comment on McAdams returning as Dr. Christine Palmer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sources close to the matter say it's a done deal.

McAdams will Benedict Cumberbatch for the reality-warping sequel, which also has Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor expected to reprise their roles from the original film as Wong and Karl Mordo, respectively. Elizabeth Olsen will also be featured in the film as her fan-favorite Avenger Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff.

Plot details surrounding the film are scarce at this time, so it's difficult to say how big a role McAdams will have in the sequel. Meanwhile, production for Multiverse of Madness is expected to begin promptly after Cumberbatch wraps on his contribution to Marvel's next Spider-Man movie. Directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is Sam Raimi, who took the film over from its original director Scott Derrickson. The Sinister filmmaker had been slated to shoot the sequel all the way up until January of this year when he left the high-profile project due to creative differences.

For the moment, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated for a March 25, 2022 release, though with COVID delays being what they are, this date is subject to change.
