Double rumor time: surprise co-stars in Django Unchained and Robert Pattinson for Catching Fire

JoBloJoBlo

As this is a tale of two rumors, I’ll skip the preamble and jump straight to it.  Please note that Rumor #2 has a small spoiler for a plot conceit in CATCHING FIRE.

Rumor #1: while at Cannes Film Festival, Producer Harvey Weinstein said that DJANGO UNCHAINED will be “in production for another month and may be adding a couple of ‘surprise’ co-stars.” Could it be that such folks as Jonah Hill, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Sacha Baron Cohen who had to drop out for scheduling reasons will still be able appear for small scenes here and there? You’ll be able to find out for yourself on December 25th.

Rumor #2: Lionsgate wants Robert Pattinson join CATCHING FIRE and “take on the role of Finnick Odair, a former tribute with an eye for the ladies, who gets dragged into the Third Quarter Quell (a Hunger Games contested by previous winners).” I honestly doubt that Pattinson would want to tie himself to another franchise like THE HUNGER GAMES after all he’s been doing to break away from them, even with the fact that his WATER FOR ELEPHANTS director Frances Lawrence is the one helming CATCHING FIRE. Just because Lionsgate is interested doesn’t mean Pattinson is, and until we hear more you can see if that whole “break away” thing is working for Pattinson with COSMOPOLIS sometime this year.
