Filming Wraps on Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep

What a time to be a horror fan. This year we were blessed with Luca Guadagnino's awe-inspiring, SUSPIRIA, the wholly original and utterly devastating HEREDITARY, John Krasinksi delighted us with clever sonic terror in A QUIET PLACE, and now, Mike Flanagan has announced that his adaptation of Stephen King's DOCTOR SLEEP has officially wrapped filming. 2018 has been a good year to be a horror fan, and now, it looks like 2020 may be just as promising.

For those who aren't familiar with the subject material, DOCTOR SLEEP is a sequel to Stephen King's THE SHINING, which depicts a now adult Danny Torrance, who meets a young girl possessing similiar powers to the ones he displayed while caught within the haunted confines of the Overlook Hotel. Now, with a cult known as The True Knots hot on their trail, Dan does his best to protect his young new friend, but it's only a matter of time before they come face to face with the men who seek to use her powers in order to gain immortality.

 Today, Flanagan announced via his Facebook page that filming has officially wrapped on his adaptation.

The cast for DOCTOR SLEEP includes Ewan McGregor (TRAINSPOTTING), Alex Essoe (STARRY EYES), Jacob Tremblay (ROOM), Rebecca Ferguson (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT), Bruce Greenwood (GERALD'S GAME), Catherine Parker (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE), Emily Alyn Lind (THE BABYSITTER), Jocelin Donahue (HOUSE OF THE DEVIL), Carl Lumbly (MEN OF HONOR), Zahn McClarnon (WESTWORLD), Carel Struycken (THE ADDAMS FAMILY), Robert Longstreet (SORRY TO BOTHER YOU), Chelsea Talmadge (STRANGER THINGS) and Selena Anduze (VENOM).
