So neither of the guys that were rumored to be up for the part of The Flash/Barry Allen for CW's ARROW nabbed the role. Grant Gustin, the guy you see in the above photo did.

You may know Gustin from his time on the updated version of 90210 or GLEE. I'm sure we've got GLEE fans around here, can't say the same for The young actor said this about taking on the part, I'm unbelievably excited. I've been a lifelong fan of DC Comics, so I can’t be more honored and can’t wait to get started.

Gustin will be seen in episodes 8,9, and 20 with the last serving to launch a backdoor pilot for a potential FLASH spinoff. The character will start the first two episodes with Allen in "Queen's home of Starling City, with the 20th providing a window to see Barry in The Flash's world. Barry Allen is described a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante. "

ARROW co-creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg as well as director David Nutter will work on the spin-off. Geoff Johns will write the script. Season three of ARROW begins on October 9, 2013.
