Filmmaking is, it seems, a bit like sushi bar.  You could say that Dwayne Johnson, for example, is on a definite roll of late with the great success of his last few movies (FAST FIVE, JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND).  But he’s also on a definite roll in the world of upcoming graphic novel adaptations, first with CIUDAD, then HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS, and now LORE.  That’s two rolls alone right there, and I’m sure there are more to be found in the life of a hard working guy like Dwayne Johnson.

Pitched as Men in Black with mythological creatures,” LORE is the story of how “in times past, the world was full of mythical creatures, creatures long since banished and held at bay by the secret society of Shepherds. But when the generational line of Shepherds is broken, a reluctant hero finds her life threatened from every quarter. And the creatures are coming back…”

The script delivered to Warner Bros comes from Cory Goodman (PRIEST) and Jeremy Lott, while the original IDW Publishing graphic novel was written by T.P. Louise with art from Ashley Wood. While Johnson’s plate is very full at the moment and he thereby won’t be able to start filming anytime soon, hopefully we’ll still hear about a director being attached in the coming weeks.
