Jeff Bridges returns as The Dude for a mysterious Super Bowl tease

Good afternoon, all of you Little Lebowski Urban Achievers, if you're in the market for a tease that will really tie your Thursday together, man, oh man, has Jeff Bridges got something special for you.

This afternoon, Bridges posted a brief teaser video to his personal Twitter account, wherein he appears as his enigmatic slacker character, Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski, from my favorite film of all time, I mean Joel and Ethan Coen's 1998 comedy classic THE BIG LEBOWSKI. In what appears to be an ad for the upcoming Super Bowl LIII event, The Dude, or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing, kicks at a nearby piece of trash (presumably the remnants of a Super Bowl afterparty) before effortlessly flicking his shades down to give the camera a knowing glance. After disappearing offscreen, the date of this year's Super Bowl, "2.3.19" is displayed. Attached to the tweet are Bridge's own words "Can't be living in the past, man. Stay tuned."

Okay, now that we've gotten the business end of this article out of the way, it's time to speculate wildly! Allow me to demonstrate … What does this all mean, man? Is this the Danny McBride "Son of Dundee" deception all over again? Will Bridges announce a proper sequel to THE BIG LEBOWSKI during the Super Bowl? Can we expect more of these ads? Perhaps some that will feature John Goodman's Walter Sobchak, or John Turturro's Jesus Quintana? Hold up! Is Flea going to be a surprise performer at this year's Super Bowl Half Time Show? Will he be dressed as Kieffer the Nihilist as he demolishes a bass guitar on stage? Is this just a clever way for super markets to sell half-and-half for White Russians during the game? Whatever happened to Jeffrey and Maude's little Lebowski? I have so many questions and I don't know if I can handle … actually, you know what? Fuck it, let's go bowling.
