21 Jump Street tagline

Are you psyched for 21 JUMP STREET? Are you amped? Are you jumping up and down in the streets because you’re so pumped? Well then, Jonah Hill has something to say that I think you’ll dig very much: “we’re writing the sequel now. We got [the greenlight] by the studio to start writing the sequel.”

Yes, this sort of thing happens often.  But unlike so many of those other times in which the script for a sequel is commissioned, I’d say 21 JUMP STREET has a fairly good chance at being enough of a financial success that a sequel could very well happen.  I.e. unlike a movie such as GREEN LANTERN.

Hill has said this about the first movie, something which I have no doubt would carry over to the intended sequel: “It’s punk rock.  It’s total mayhem. It’s two young-looking cops going to back to high school and they party with high school kids and go crazy.  I’d say it’s the funniest movie I’ve ever been in—that and Superbad.  It’s like a two-hour or hour-and-a-half party.”

The party starts March 16th.
