Marvel spins a web of intrigue and action in new Black Widow TV spot

Marvel fans who're looking forward to Natasha Romanoff's long-overdue solo feature rejoice, because a "special look" at BLACK WIDOW has dropped during ESPN's National Championship!

Directed by Cate Shortland, the events of BLACK WIDOW take place between the films CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. Scarlett Johansson will of course reprise her long-running role as Marvel's resourceful and red-ledgered superspy for the upcoming film, though she'll also share the screen with some fresh faces to the MCU as well, including Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shastakov / Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff, among others.

While little is known about the plot for BLACK WIDOW at this time, the film does appear to involve harsh memories of events from Natasha's checkered past coming back to haunt her. That being said, the trailer isn't all doom and gloom as it also presents us with a window into Black Widow's extended family. Speaking of family, I can't wait to meet David Harbour's Red Guardian. He looks like the type of person who gives great hugs, as well as a hero that can hold his vodka.

What are your thoughts regarding Marvel's BLACK WIDOW? Have the trailers pumped you up for what's to come? Does the film still feel like it's a decade too late to the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Marvel's BLACK WIDOW will explode onto screen beginning on May 1, 2020.
