Pitt’s Lost City

JoBloJoBlo

Brad Pitt must’ve watched plenty of Sesame Street and Electric Company as a youth, because the guy loves his letters, particularly beta and zed.

Pitt’s Plan B company is producing the epic zompocalypse movie WORLD WAR Z, and now also a fact-based adventure titled LOST CITY OF Z. The upcoming book by David Grann follows real-life British explorer Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, who was seeking the titular Amazon site when he and his crew mysteriously disappeared in 1925. Since that time, dozens of other parties have failed to find any trace of Fawcett or his goal.

Pitt will ostensibly also portray Fawcett for the Paramount project, although that will probably require some extrapolation of the true figure’s fate. He’s already got a busy schedule — Fincher’s THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON and the Coens’ BURN AFTER READING hit screens later this year, and he’s working on Malick’s TREE OF LIFE and Aronofsky’s THE FIGHTER, producing the upcoming Rachel McAdams/Eric Bana THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE, and frolicking with mate Angelina Jolie and their expanding brood.
