Rumor: British newcomer up for major role in Star Wars: Episode VII

A few days ago Disney chairman Alan Horn said casting for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII was almost complete, and some filming has already begun. We still don't know which actors and actresses will definitely appear in J.J. Abrams' movie, however it sounds like there just might be some truth to this latest rumor.

Multiple sources have told THR British actress and Oxford student Maisie Richardson-Sellers is being considered for a major role in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. If the name doesn't sound familiar it's because the actress doesn't have any movie credits, although she has appeared in local plays for Mephisto, There Will Be Red and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide. Richardson-Sellers might be up for the role, but two sources also say she hasn't been offered the part yet, so even if this rumor is true, there's a chance she won't get the part. Maybe it's the same one 12 YEARS A SLAVE's Lupita Nyong'o was rumored for last month?

J.J. Abrams has cast newcomers or unknown actors for lead roles before in his films, so it really wouldn't be that surprising for an actress with no film credits to nab a huge part in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. I promise someday soon we'll have real, confirmed news on STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, but until then we're just going to have to deal with all of these rumors and speculations on J.J. Abrams' new movie.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18th, 2015.
