Scream 5: Kyle Gallner says sequel captures magic of the original film

One of the new stars of the upcoming SCREAM 5, wants to assure fans that the horror sequel is likely to please fans because it captures the magic of the original film. Kyle Gallner is one of the fresh names joining franchise veterans Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette in the latest installment of that is being brought to us from the minds that gave us last year's READY OR NOT.

During a recent interview with "Collider", Gallner addressed the upcoming sequel and he seems confident that fans will love it:

"I'm the first one to be like, 'Eh, ya know …' No, no, no. What I found really, really cool about the script is there's a lot of that kind of magic that the first one had, which is really cool. I think the people who love the original are gonna really dig this."

Gallner was promoting his film DINNER IN AMERICA when he spoke with "Collider" and he was joined by the film's director Adam Carter Rehmeier. Even though the SCREAM 5 question was given to Gallner, Rehmeier jumped in to express his excitement about SCREAM 5 because of his faith in Tyler Gillett, part of the Radio Silence team that is directing SCREAM 5 and had a hand in the critically-acclaimed READY OR NOT from last year:

“I have a lot of faith in Tyler because I love Ready or Not and I’ve known Tyler for many years, and I know it’s gonna be good, so I’m excited.”

Gallner also went on to stress how great the SCREAM 5 cast is which is pretty evident when you look at the names that consist of franchise fan favorites and a new cast of fresh faces that seem to be some of the best in regards of up and coming talent. In addition to the trifecta of Campbell, Cox, and Arquette, SCREAM 4's Marley Shelton is back as  Deputy Judy Hicks and she is joined by newcomers Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid, Mikey Madison, Mason Gooding, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

I'm confident in the creative team behind SCREAM 5 so that makes me rest easy that it's in good hands without the great Wes Craven getting to lead the way due to his passing a few years ago. Craven helmed the previous four installments of the franchise and even though it might feel weird to not have him involved, all signs point to the filmmakers properly honoring the work he did with the previous films while also making something completely fresh for a new generation.

Do YOU think SCREAM 5 is in good hands? We have a bit of a wait but, SCREAM 5 is expected to hit screens on January 14, 2022.
