In the closing moments of the second season of The Mandalorian, we witnessed Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) returning to Jabba's palace, where Fett killed Bib Fortuna and took his place on the throne. A title card then announced that The Book of Boba Fett would be coming to Disney+ later this year. Production on The Book of Boba Fett recently concluded, and while speaking with Rotten Tomatoes, Temuera Morrison dropped a few details about the upcoming series.

The actor naturally couldn't reveal much about what The Book of Boba Fett has in store, but Temuera Morrison did say that "we’re going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back. Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him." It stands to reason that we may finally learn just how Fett escaped from the Sarlacc, but who knows what other elements of Fett's history will be revealed. Morrison added that Robert Rodriguez, who directed the big Boba Fett episode in The Mandalorian, returned to helm episodes of the new series along with a few other "wonderful" directors. "I just hope I meet the expectations, because you can somehow kind of feel those things," Morrison said. "On The Book of Boba, you can get more of a sense and a feeling for if it’s working or not. So I think with being involved with that last series of The Mandalorian and having a reentry, it has created a little bit more expectation. But yeah, I feel good. We’ve done some good work."

The Book of Boba Fett will debut on Disney+ in December 2021.
