The Evil Dead reboot is still creeping around

That reboot for THE EVIL DEAD? It still might be coming.

Who announced this tomfoolery? It was Rob Tapert, the man who runs Ghost House Productions with Sam Raimi.

This is what he said on THE EVIL DEAD reboot and the lack of deadness, “It’s possible; we’re looking at a script this month. What’s interesting about ‘Evil Dead’ is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theater. … I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in grueling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience.”

But…why not just have screenings like they are doing with BACK TO THE FUTURE? I’d pay good money to see the original at one of my local theaters.

Shock Til You Drop, who reported the news originally, say they know a lot of writers and directors that have taken a meeting with the Ghost House team for THE EVIL DEAD remake gig. I’m with them when they say that it’s, “Hard to believe Tapert and Raimi are still giving it a push.”

I’m not going to whine about it, but how do you top anything without Bruce Campbell in a leading role? A cameo is nice but I don’t want to see some dreadful teen actors in a cabin pretending to be scared. All I can say is I’m not onboard with this one.
