There will be blood in a new pic of Lupita Nyong’o for Jordan Peele’s Us

Before the official trailer for Jordan Peele's US comes down the chimney on Christmas Day, Empire has shared a new and exclusive image of Lupita Nyong'o from the upcoming social thriller. In the image, we find Nyong'o's Adelaide standing amidst a series of broken down vehicles, with at least one of them being engulfed in flames. As she looks on at her daunting journey ahead, we can see that a portion of her pearl white dress is soaked in blood, rusting the collar and shoulders with crimson stains.

In talking about the image to Empire, Peele explained, “This image captures Adelaide as she approaches the threshold of a nightmarish journey, prepared to kill anything everything in her way.”

While details surrounding the film are scarce at this time, we do know that US is being teased as yet another timely horror offering from Peele. The mysterious film stars Lupita Nyong'o (BLACK PANTHER, 12 YEARS A SLAVE), Winston Duke (BLACK PANTHER, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR), and Elisabeth Moss (MAD MEN, THE HANDMAID'S TALE). Also set to join Peele's follow-up to his box-office breaking debut with GET OUT are Anna Diop (TITANS, 24: LEGACY), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (THE GET DOWN, AQUAMAN), and Kara Hayward (MOORISE KINGDOM, MANCHSTER BY THE SEA).

Be sure to keep your eye out for the Ultimate 2019 Preview issue of Empire, which is set to arrive on shelves Thursday, December 27th. Meanwhile, US is set to bow in theaters on March 15, 2019.
