Betty Gilpin starred in the thriller The Hunt, which was co-written by Damon Lindelof, and now she and Lindelof are teaming up again for the Peacock streaming service series Mrs. Davis. According to Variety, plot details are being kept under wraps, but they were able to dig up the information that Mrs. Davis will be

an exploration of faith vs. technology. To that end, Gilpin will play a nun who goes to battle against an all-powerful A.I.

Lindelof is writing and executive producing Mrs. Davis with Tara Hernandez, who will serve as showrunner. Also executive producing the show is Owen Harris, who will direct multiple episodes of the series, including the first episode. In addition to co-writing The Hunt, Lindelof previously created or co-created Lost, The Leftovers, and Watchmen. He worked on the screenplays for the films Cowboys & Aliens, Prometheus, Star Trek Into Darkness, World War Z, and Tomorrowland. Hernandez previously worked on The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. Harris’s directing credits include episodes of The Twilight Zone, Brave New World, and Black Mirror. Among his contributions to Black Mirror was the incredibly popular episode San Junipero.

Gilpin had roles on Nurse Jackie and Masters of Sex, and she earned three consecutive Emmy nominations for her role on the Netflix series GLOW. She was also in The Tomorrow War.

There’s not much to go on when it comes to Mrs. Davis at the moment, but what we do know about it sounds promising. The set-up of a nun battling all-powerful artificial intelligence could be the makings of a very interesting show.
