MTV moving forward with sequel to My Super Psycho Sweet 16

You guys remember that tame slasher flick MTV came up with last year? The thing was called MY SUPER PSYCHO SWEET 16, and from what I can remember it actually did halfway decent. I even heard it wasn’t half bad… though that’s extremely hard to believe.

Well apparently the flick did good enough because MTV is moving forward with a sequel! According to Bloody-Disgusting, Jacob Gentry is stepping up to direct MY SUPER PSYCHO SWEET 16 PART 2! Alright so ‘PART 2’ isn’t really part of the title, I just don’t like putting two numbers next to each other like that. Oh wait… let’s get back to this awesome news!

Sarcasm aside, if this thing was actually halfway decent maybe a sequel won’t be so bad? Gentry did co-direct the 2007 flick THE SIGNAL. Plus he did the first MY SUPER PSYCHO SWEET 16… So perhaps there’s hope! B-D also drop word that Lauren McKnight, Chris Zylka and Matt Angel will al be returning. Gentry will be directing a script from Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, with plans being to start shooting this June in Atlanta.

What can you really say? If MY SUPER PSYCHO SWEET 16 was pretty good then this should be pretty good news. If the thing sucked, we should avoid this shite at all costs. This schmuck never got a chance to check it out but I’m sure some of you have. So what do you say?
