MTV will premiere their “Teen Wolf” television series on Sunday, June 5th, following the broadcast of the MTV Movie Awards. The series is written by Jeff Davis (“Criminal Minds”), with the inaugural episode directed by Russell Mulcahy (RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION). Three future episodes were helmed by Toby Wilkins (SPLINTER).

The series is based around a young outsider named Scott McCall, who one night wanders around the woods in search of a dead body and is attacked by a werewolf. He escapes the attack with only a bite to his side, but starts to notice some changes in himself.

Tyler Posey will take on the role made famous by Michael J. Fox in the 1985 film of the same name. The cast also includes Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed (below), Linden Ashby, Dylan O’Brien, Colton Haynes and Holland Roden. The first season is planned to run for twelve episodes.

At this point I’m used to my childhood getting raped with remakes, but turning this fun classic into a TWILIGHT imitator to cash in on the trend is insulting. What do you think?
