Mulberry St. On

Got some dirt on a new genre pic that’s set to start shooting in NY come August. It’s a little ditty called MULBERRY ST., and while the title doesn’t exactly send my motor into high gear, the concept of the piece does.

The film tells the nightmarish story of six characters trapped in a downtown tenement building where a rodent borne virus spreads on the city streets outside, causing the human population to…change.

Nice, eh? And all you have to do is check out the production art sample top right, or click here to check out the whole gallery, to understand this is not going to be another zombie flick. Killer man-rats on the rampage, baby!

Along with the art work there’s also test footage, photos and cast listing (genre vet Debbie Rochon will put in a cameo, but why wait when you can enjoy her bloody beauty below). The site’s not completely flush with content, but it’s pretty meaty considering the flick is still only in pre-production.

This is one I plan to keep a keen eye on!
