Multiple horror Schism

We’ve got an indie horror flick that’s layered with personalities. It’s called SCHISM and it’s coming our way from director Derek Purtell who penned the script with his wife, Erika. This one seems to tell a story that’s way out there, but fun. And if that pic from the flick above is any indication, we may be in for a gory, good time. Have a look at the synopsis:

It’s about a woman named Linda who has multiple personality disorder, and hosts a talk show that invites people to call in and discuss how they deal with their own insanities. Her viewers start getting murdered—but is the culprit a deranged member of her audience, the doctor to whom she refers her “patients” or perhaps Linda herself?

Sounds somewhat similar to IDENTITY, but hopefully isn’t identical. The “patients” seem to be shaping up nicely. Apparently one (played by Joshua Nelson who wrote the zombie love story EAT YOUR HEART OUT which The Pub reviewed here) thinks he’s a vampire and actually drinks his girlfriend’s blood. Just some good, wholesome f*cked up fun, right?

The rest of the fine cast includes Lynn Lowry (THE CRAZIES, CAT PEOPLE), Robert Youngren, Janet Tracy Keijser (THE HALFWAY HOUSE, below), Jason Witter (PRETTY DEAD THINGS), Lauren Susan and Commander of Troma, Lloyd Kaufman. Feel free to visit SCHISM’s MySpace page here. It’s currently in production without a set release date yet. Stay tuned.
