This may not be major casting, but it’s certainly sly.
The remake of the cult fave 80s slasher MY BLOODY VALENTINE has brought in its own veteran of 80s horror, character actor Tom Atkins. While he’s appeared in action flicks like STRIKING DISTANCE and LETHAL WEAPON, genre fans will recognize Atkins from THE FOG, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH, THE NEW KIDS, MANIAC COP and, of course, NIGHT OF THE CREEPS (“Thrill me”).
Another genre veteran, Patrick Lussier (DRACULA 2000, the SCREAM series), is behind the camera for the three-dimensional murders. Lionsgate’s 3-D update of the flick, about a masked killer slaughtering his way through a mining town during Valentine’s Day, is gearing up for production with Jensen Ackles and Jaime King starring.
