Wild Bunch has picked up the international sales rights to Oscar-nominated Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo’s next film, WINDOWS, which we last told you about way back in August of 2010. So far, it’s only in the preparation stage, but the script has evidently already been written.
Plot details are still thin, but according to Screen Daily, the flick is going to be a thriller about watching and being watched on the internet in a style similar to Alfred Hitchock’s film Rear Window.
When we wrote about the project last year, producer Enrique Lopez said it’s “a thriller in the mould of District 9, reasonably low budget but with impressive effects and the potential to make a huge impact.”
Vigalondo is perhaps best known as the helmer of the terrific Spanish-language film TIMECRIMES. His latest, EXTRATERRESTRIAL, is making its U.S. premiere at Fantastic Fest next week. Check out the trailer below.
