We’ve got a little more info on Jennifer Lynch’s slithering-forward flick NAGIN (which Jared P. last reported on here). Before, all we knew was that Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat would be playing the serpentine NAGIN, a Far Eastern mythic snake woman who is able to take on human form.
But now, we have the skinny on the role being played by Irfan Khan (also of Bollywood fame). He will be a cop who has been given the task to pin down the Nagin and destroy her powers.
This flick does sound pretty intriguing (though it’s title is kinda strange) with the potential to combine monstrous horror with some sexy thrills (get a load of Ms. Sherawat below). And Jennifer Lynch (David’s daughter) is becoming quite the accomplished filmmaker (like daddy) after her well-received work on SURVEILLANCE. I’m definitely interested to see what she can do with this snake woman. I’m also looking forward to the creature effects by Robert Kurtzman (THE RAGE). Shooting is set to begin at the end of this month with the aim of a release in 2009.
