Natty Knocks: Robert Englund, Danielle Harris horror film gets July release date

Dwight H. Little’s horror film Natty Knocks (starring Danielle Harris, Robert Englund, and Bill Moseley) gets a July release date

Last year, we heard that Dwight H. Little, director of the excellent Halloween sequel Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (watch it HERE), had re-teamed with that film’s star Danielle Harris for a new horror thriller called Natty Knocks – which also stars Robert Englund (Little directed him in the 1989 film The Phantom of the Opera), Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Jason James Richter (The Little Things), and newcomer Charlotte Fountain-Jardim. Now Variety reports that Vertical has picked up the North America, United Kingdom, and Ireland distribution rights to the film and will be giving it a day-and-date release on July 21st.

Scripted by Benjamin Olson, Natty Knocks sees Fountain-Jardim taking on the role of a small-town babysitter who, on Halloween Eve, along with her “kids,” has to survive serial killer Abner Honeywell who is himself the traumatized son of B-movie horror legend known as “Natty Knocks.”

Jason James Richter produced the film with Sandy Little. Amit Sarin and Vineesha Arora-Sarin executive produced.

Dwight H. Little provided the following statement to Deadline: “Ever since working with Robert Englund on Phantom of the Opera, I have been looking for a way for us to find a project to do together. Natty Knocks is exactly the small-town horror film I was hoping to find to jump back into this genre.

Vertical SVP of Acquisitions Tony Piantedosi had this to say about the distribution deal: “Natty Knocks immediately intrigued us, given its collaboration of prolific horror icons who defined the genre for decades. The film is a testament to Dwight’s experience as a filmmaker, and we’re pleased that we were able to come on board for the project.

The producers added: “We couldn’t be happier that our indie thriller Natty Knocks has found a perfect home with Vertical. Vertical is doing great things with independent distribution and we can’t wait for audiences to see the entertaining movie our talented cast and director have delivered.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers is my favorite Halloween sequel, and a big reason for that is the great job Little did capturing the look and feel of a small town on Halloween. So I’m really looking forward to seeing this new Halloween horror movie he has made.
