Locked up these last few days? Think you're going to be locked in for the foreseeable future? Need something new to binge-watch?

Well, THE SHINING and THE STAND author Stephen King has you covered. He recommends Netflix's adaptation of Harlan Coben's THE STRANGER with Richard Armitage (THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG) and Hannah John-Kamen (STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS).

He tweets:

THE STRANGER, on Netflix: Excellent mystery. Addictive.

THE STRANGER was created by Harlan Coben based on his hit novel of the same name. Daniel O'Hara and Hannah Quinn directed the eight-episode series. Danny Brocklehurst, Harlan Coben, Richard Fee, and Nicola Shindler serve as the show's executive producers. Madonna Baptiste produced.

It begins when:

a stranger makes a shocking claim about his wife, family man Adam Price becomes entangled in a mystery as he desperately searches for answers.

It stars Richard Armitage (THE HOBBIT), Siobhan Finneran, Jennifer Saunders, Shaun Dooley, Paul Kaye, Dervla Kirwan, Kadiff Kirwan, Jacob Dudman, Ella-Rae Smith, Misha Handley, and Anthony Head with Stephen Rea as Martin Killane and Hannah John-Kamen as The Stranger.

The series sports an 86% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: "If not quite as addicting as its source material, The Stranger has a strong cast and enough tension to keep viewers on the edge of their seats." Netflix released it back on January 30, 2020.
