Neighbors writers take on horror-comedy Thrill Ride

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

In the vein of THIS IS THE END and SCREAM, Fox has just picked up the horror-comedy THRILL RIDE, an original idea by NEIGHBORS (pictured) scribes Andrew Jay Cohen & Brendan O’Brien, which they plan to direct, reports Deadline. An original horror movie that isn't found-footage? I'll take it. Sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun as it sees a bunch of asshole high schoolers die horrible deaths in an amusement park thanks to a mysterious killer.

Here's what we know about THRILL RIDE:

It takes place at a particularly cruel high school where bullying has become the norm. At Senior Night, the school rents out an amusement park for the entire senior class where everyone rides the rides and plays the games as much as they want with no lines and no rules. The only drawback: students start dying on the rides in elaborate ways. All the exits are sealed, and there is a killer on the loose turning all the rides into ways of punishing the bullies and the so called bad people at school. Kids from all different cliques have to band together to figure out who the killer is and how to stop them.

The script will be written by Peter Warren and Chernin Entertainment will produce with Cohen & O’Brien

Rose Byrne starred in NEIGHBORS
