Netflix orders a second season of Love, Death and Robots

Love Death and Robots

In its first season, Netflix's animated anthology Love, Death & Robots dealt with subjects like "werewolf soldiers, robots gone wild, sentient dairy, alien spiders, and blood-thirsty demons from Hell." Netflix must have been pleased with how those subjects were handled, because the streaming service has now ordered a second season – or a second volume – of the show.

Love, Death & Robots is executive produced by David Fincher and DEADPOOL director Tim Miller, and Miller has described the show as his dream project.

It combines my love of animation and amazing stories. Midnight movies, comics, books and magazines of fantastic fiction have inspired me for decades, but they were relegated to the fringe culture of geeks and nerds of which I was a part. I’m so f*cking excited that the creative landscape has finally changed enough for adult-themed animation to become part of a larger cultural conversation."

The first season/volume of Love, Death & Robots consisted of 18 episodes that were in the 6 to 17 minute range.

For the next volume of episodes, Jennifer Yuh Nelson is joining the creative team as supervising director. Nelson's previous credits include KUNG FU PANDA 2 and 3, episodes of the animated Spawn series that ran on HBO at the end of the '90s, and the live action film THE DARKEST MINDS.

Netflix and the producers haven't revealed any information on the new episodes yet, and they haven't announced a premiere date for the new volume yet, either. But if you liked what Love, Death & Robots had to show you before, get ready for more.
