Netflix’s The Witcher shuts down production due to Covid

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

So Deadline reports that shooting on the second season of Netflix's THE WITCHER series – starring Henry Cavill (MAN OF STEEL) – has been shut down and postponed once again, due to another round of positive Covid-19 tests. While it doesn't seem to involve any of the lead cast, it does appear to have involved multiple members of the crew.

This is the second big shutdown for the production, after actor Kristofer Hivju revealed he had tested positive back in March. No official date for restart of shooting, but Netflix is saying it's doing everything it can to keep the set safe and uncontaminated.

Meanwhile, here's the official synopsis of the series:

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

So what do you guys think? Fans of THE WITCHER? If so, excited about the new season? Either way, sound off below!
