Yesterday we brought you word that Shake It Up and K.C. Undercover star Zendaya has been cast as a character named "Michelle" in director Jon Watts' SPIDER-MAN reboot, and now (thanks to Variety) we have some more details on her role.
The site has heard that although the actress will not be playing a love interest to Tom Holland's Peter Parker or have a lead role in the movie, her character will "play a bigger part in future installments." It also sounds like Michelle isn't just a code name for a different character either, so there's a good chance she will be playing Michele Gonzales like some have speculated.
That's it for now, however we will likely be hearing a whole lot more about the reboot in the very near future since production is expected to kick off this summer.
SPIDER-MAN is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2017, but we'll be getting our first look at Holland in action as the web-slinger in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, which is due out on May 6, 2016.
