New episodes of Supernatural not set to air ‘for awhile’ after tonight

Let it be known that even Sam and Dean Winchester don't stand a chance against the ongoing spread of COVID-19.

SUPERNATURAL co-showrunner Andrew Dabb recently tweeted that tonight's episode of the Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles-led drama "will be our last episode for awhile" thanks to the show's recent production shutdown following the COVID-19 outbreak.

After delivering the unfortunate though to-be-expected news, Dabb added: “Clarification: We have filmed through episode 18, however our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak. So, right now, the episodes can’t be finished. However, have some special treats coming along the way– to help us all get through this.”

Aww, but don't shed those tears just yet, little lamb. Dabb was also quick to reassure fans of the series that the show, come hell or high water, will return: “And yes, we, the CW, and Warner Bros fully intend to return and finish the series. It’s not a matter of ‘if,’ it’s a matter of ‘when.'”

You know what, COVID-19? You're getting to be a real pain in the ass. Actually, who am I kidding? You're the worst. Not only are you making people deathly ill all across the globe, you're severely mucking with damn-near every film and TV show across the board. Stop it. I mean it. Just go away already.

Feh. Anyway, SUPERNATURAL will return for the remaining episodes of its final season once the coast is clear.
