The old one-eyed man’s hideous heart beats, as it turns out, in New Orleans, as a new film production of the legendary Edgar Allan Poe tale THE TELL-TALE HEART gets underway. John La Tier directs, and some stills from the project have appeared online, which you can see here… Obviously, based on these images, this version of “Tell-Tale” has a different visage than one might expect…
The film stars Patrick John Flueger (from Darren Lynn Bousman’s MOTHER’S DAY) and Rose McGowan. Folks who have read the story will wonder how a female enters the equation (after all, Poe’s tale is mostly presided over by an old man and his murderer); according to The Hollywood Reporter, a romance has been added to the equation. Indeed, it would be a challenge to stretch the fairly succinct story into a full length feature if one completely adhered to the text. (Which is why it’s been seen as a short film so many times.)
In addition to Flueger and McGowan, the flick stars director Peter Bogdanovich (who stars as the old man), Jacob Vargas, Damon Whitaker and Kirk Fox.
Director John La Tier had this to say: “We want this film to be something [Poe] would be proud of, and I believe this captivating script, combined with this cast and art direction, is going to be just that.”
Anxious to see more from this project; hopefully we will soon.

Obviously, this pic of Rose isn’t from the movie. It’s just hot.
