STYD scored some interesting news over the weekend, as they found out who the new director will be for Ghost House Pictures’ upcoming THE GRUDGE 3. That’s right, and it looks like… wait, WHAT??? THE GRUDGE 3??? Did they not see THE GRUDGE 2? I mean, a third one? Really? Not that part 2 sucked ass or anything, but it wasn’t anything to shake a stick at, that’s for sure. Wow, I’m just still in shock they’re making a third GRUDGE movie.
Anyway, now that I’m getting used to the idea, it looks like GRUDGE director Takashi Shimizu is not expected back to direct the third in the series, but F/X ninja Toby Wilkins is! He’s actually the dude who directed the GRUDGE tie-ins “Tales of the Grudge” back when THE GRUDGE 2 was coming out. So at least he has some background in the series, right?
Apparently filming may begin as early as January on the flick, though there is no final script yet… or a cast, for that matter… but you never know, they have a few months to get their shtie together and crank this beast out for next October!
