New images from Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives

If you’ve seen DRIVE or checked out VALHALLA RISING or BRONSON then you’re fully aware of Nicolas Winding Refn’s unquestionable talent behind the camera. The guy is batting .1000 so far and fans are eagerly anticipating his next feature ONLY GOD FORGIVES with high expectations.

In the past few months we’ve shared some images and a lo-rez teaser with you, and today we have some new pics from the flick for you to set your gaze upon. Check ’em out below.

Bangkok. Ten years ago Julian killed a cop and went on the run. Now he manages a Thai boxing club as a front for a drugs operation. Respected in the criminal underworld, deep inside, he feels empty. When Julian’s brother murders a prostitute, the police call on retired cop Chang – the Angel of Vengeance. Chang allows the father to kill his daughter’s murderer, then ‘restores order’ by chopping off the man’s right hand. Julian’s mother Jenna – the head of a powerful criminal organization – arrives in Bangkok to collect her son’s body. She dispatches Julian to find his killers and ‘raise hell’.

These new images have landed thanks to Allocine, who also tell us an official trailer is expected to arrive within two weeks (I can’t wait for that!). As for a possible United States release, Radius-TWC have the rights and we heard late last year they were planning a May bow, but considering we haven’t heard a peep from them, I wouldn’t count on it. The film certainly seems like a sure-fire bet for the Cannes Film Festival, though.
