Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have debuted a new trailer for director Leigh Whannell's THE INVISIBLE MAN, starring Elisabeth Moss, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Aldis Hodge, and Storm Reid. The new footage gives us a more in-depth look at Cecilia Kass' (Moss) overly-toxic and abusive relationship with her wealthy and brilliant scientist boyfriend, Adrian Griffin (Jackson-Cohen). Moreover, the chilling preview also provides us with a taste of how Cecilia reclaims her independence, as well as how her newfound freedom is short-lived upon discovering that Adrian isn't gone, he's just invisible. As the trailer intensifies, so does Cecilia's determination to rid herself of the transparent assailant who's hellbent on terrorizing her until a very bitter end.

Trapped in a violent, controlling relationship with a wealthy and brilliant scientist, Cecilia Kass (Moss) escapes in the dead of night and disappears into hiding, aided by her sister (Harriet Dyer, NBC's The InBetween), their childhood friend (Aldis Hodge, Straight Outta Compton) and his teenage daughter (Storm Reid, HBO's Euphoria).
But when Cecilia's abusive ex (Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House) commits suicide and leaves her a generous portion of his vast fortune, Cecilia suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of eerie coincidences turns lethal, threatening the lives of those she loves, Cecilia's sanity begins to unravel as she desperately tries to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.
THE INVISIBLE MAN is directed and executive produced by SAW alum Leigh Whannell, from his screenplay and screen story. The film is also produced by Kylie du Fresne (UPGRADE), with Beatriz Sequeira, Charles Layton, Rosemary Blight, Ben Grant, Couper Samuelson and Jeanette Volturno also serving as executive producers.
Hot damn! I really hope this film comes together well, because everything I've seen for it so far has me very excited for this re-imagining of the classic Universal monster, the Invisible Man. Thankfully, we won't have to wait long to find out if THE INVISBLE MAN is worth seeing, on account of that it will appear in theaters beginning on February 28th.
