I’m not a fan of the “Avatar” series on Nickelodeon. Not that I dislike it; not at all. I’m just almost completely unaware of it. I’ve seen bits and pieces but I’ve probably seen more of its upcoming live-action movie, THE LAST AIRBENDER, than I have of the cartoon itself. But what I have seen of this movie, even though I’m not a fan of the cartoon, has me impressed.
This new trailer continues the fine footage we’ve seen from the movie but when I was talking about this with someone else, they mentioned that Shyamalan always seems to have great trailers (and lately not-so-great films). He just directs movies that lend themselves to epic trailer moments (not unlike Zack Snyder and Roland Emmerich). But does that make a great movie? So far reports out of test screenings haven’t been very positive but the movie is still some time away and hopefully Shyamalan uses that time wisely.
