The wait is finally over! The Spierig brothers told Bloody Disgusting yesterday that they were pretty sure Lions “We love horror and we show it” Gate Films will release their zombie flick UNDEAD early 2005. Which, and I think I can say this for everybody, is about goddamn time!
They also released a much more detailed synopsis for thier upcoming Vampire flick DAYBREAKERS, which the twins are working on right now. This one sounds awesome! Check it out:
Vampires are the dominate species on the planet, they have tried to continue their lives as normal people. Human beings are on the brink of extinction, it’s just a matter of time before the entire human population is wiped out. Vampires will suffer an eternity of starvation and madness if they can’t find an alternative to human blood. One man discovers a solution that will save the vampire race – they must become human again.
It sounds even phatter than it did before! Maybe it’s the upcoming release of BLADE: TRINITY, but I can’t get enough of vampire flicks lately (just got my hands on the NEAR DARK DVD- f*ckin’ awesome!), and this one definately rubs me the right way- especially conisidering the guys who’re behind it. Don’t miss UNDEAD, as it is nearing release within the next couple of months (we’ll let you know exactly when once we find out!), and keep your ears open for more on DAYBREAKERS- gems like this only come so often…
