New limited edition pinball machine based on Heavy Metal on the way!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The 1981 animated film HEAVY METAL is most certainly a formative film for many people (especially boys) of a certain era. It is cited by many as the first adult animated film with excessive nudity and gore that they'd ever seen (something rare in American animation even to this day, and came out before the anime boom post-AKIRA almost a decade later in 1988).

Another staple of 80's nostalgia is arcades (especially in our current climate), including pinball machines. However, that doesn't have to stop you from playing pinball in the comfort of your own home (assuming you have the cash), because Stern Pinball has created an officially licensed HEAVY METAL pinball machine that you can buy and play yourself (if you can afford to plunk down $8,000, of course)! Here's the official description:

The Heavy Metal pinball machine commemorates the 300th issue of Heavy Metal, which has been running since 1977 and inspired the 1981 animated movie of the same name. An exclusive variant cover edition of issue 300 will be included with every machine. Heavy Metal is working with Incendium as a premier licensing partner to align with premium brands and their products.

Not going to lie, looks pretty damn cool to me! You can even see a demo of it in the video at the top of the article.

Meanwhile, if you're interested and have the dough, you buy it now HERE.

So what do you guys think? Any fans of HEAVY METAL? If so, do you love it enough to get a specialized pinball machine? Either way, sound off below!
