There once was a time when we could count on a new Asian horror remake being announced at least once a week if not more often. Now it almost seems like the tide has slowed down to a wee trickle.

Thankfully New Line is stepping up and has obtained the rights to the 2004 Japanese horror flick INFECTION. The remake will be set in an isolated hospital where the staff — stymied by mistakes and coverups — races to battle a deadly infection that turns out to be of supernatural origin.

You know it’s going to kick ass because they’re using heavy vocabulary like stymied. That’s always a mark of quality.
