The new poster for Ana Lily Amirpour’s debut A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT looks exactly like the last poster, only there’s more words on it. Why the new poster? It’s because Kino Lorber is releasing the vampire tale in New York and Los Angeles on November 21st with a national expansion to follow; that’s next week, folks! While it’s a very small release, I’m sure we’ll be hearing news of a VOD release shortly, so hang in there! The Iranian vampire tale is said to be a joyful mash-up of genre, archetype, and iconography, its prolific influences span spaghetti westerns, graphic novels, horror films, and the Iranian New Wave.

Strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a bastion of depravity and hopelessness where a lonely vampire stalks its most unsavory inhabitants. But when boy meets girl, an unusual love story begins to blossom… blood red.

The film stars Sheila Vand, Arash Marandi, Dominic Rains, Marshall Manesh, Mozhan Marnó and Milad Eghbali.
