The film has been rated R for sexual content, nudity, violence, disturbing images, and some language. Written by Robert Eggers and Max Eggers, THE LIGHTHOUSE has a vague-ass synopsis which reads:
From Robert Eggers, the visionary filmmaker behind modern horror masterpiece The Witch, comes this hypnotic and hallucinatory tale of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.
Robert Eggers directs the new fantasy-horror flick from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Max Eggers. Youree Henley, Lourenço Sant' Anna, Rodrigo Teixeira, and Jay Van Hoy produced. Jarin Blaschke is the movie's cinematographer and Louise Ford edited the flick. RT Features, New Regency, and Parts & Labor are the production companies behind the scenes.
