It’s Friday and you should be planning your movie watching weekend already. If you’ve planned ahead, then you likely keep tabs on release dates months ahead of time… nice work. Here
are a couple of release date updates to start planning for your 2009.
Breck Eisner’s remake of George A. Romero’s THE CRAZIES has officially taken the September 25, 2009 slot for it’s theatrical release. That’s actually a great time to release a horror flick as it’s on the eve of becoming October, and we all know what people crave during October… horror movies!
Another remake has been given a release date, this time it’s Matt Reeve’s remake of Tomas Alfredson’s LET THE RIGHT ONE IN , which has been given a January 15, 2010 theatrical release! That’s right, 2010! That’s an insane thought if I’ve ever heard of one… 2010. Wow. Anyway, since January is the new October when it comes to horror, this is probably a pretty smart move… who knows what the competition will be like this far into the future.
And finally, a little closer to home, Anchor Bay has announced they will be giving the Kim Basinger thriller WHILE SHE WAS OUT a limited theatrical release on December 12th (next month) before it hits DVD. Very cool. The trailer looked promising, lets hope it’s as good as it looked!
Three release dates, each one with a different month and a different year.. whoa, that’s trippy. Mark your calendars and get ready… they’ll be here closer than you’d think!
