The marketing machine for the new Scream movie keeps chugging along. Last Friday, we saw a trio of character posters that focused on Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and Dewey Riley, played by franchise stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette. Now nine more character posters have been released online, featuring Scream 4‘s Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks and eight of the new characters we’ll be introduced to in the film: Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Mikey Madison as Amber Freeman, Dylan Minnette as Wes Hicks, Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Jack Quaid as Richie Kirsch, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, and Sonia Ammar as Liv McKenzie.

A featurette has also been released to ponder the question, “What makes Ghostface such a scary horror icon?” You can see the featurette and the character posters below.

This Scream “legacy-quel” is coming to us from Ready or Not (watch it HERE) directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The screenplay was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Vanderbilt also produced the film for Project X Entertainment, alongside Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena serve as executive producers alongside original Scream writer Kevin Williamson.

The film has the following synopsis:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

You can read our set visit interview with the directors at THIS LINK, and our set visit interview with cast members HERE.

The new Scream has been rated R for “strong bloody violence, language throughout, and some sexual references“.
